EUGEN FELLER

Eugen Feller (Zagreb, 1942) is self-taught, painter active since 1957. He has been exhibiting since 1959. At the beginning of the 1960s, while making the cycle Malapije, paintings of relief surfaces and monochrome structures of thick plaster layers, Feller affirmed himself as one of the most radical representatives of informel in contemporary Croatian art. The absence of  objective content and use of  un-painterly materials and techniques likened his work to Ivo Gattin. His more recent work inclines towards minimalism and abstraction.  Feller has lived in Italy since 1969 and produces drawings and prints.
